While traveling
in Jamaica, I found that
a smile is a universal language. I was able to spend time making portraits
of some locals during a Sunday sunrise.

Catherine
Hurlbutt, 'Birdie', rescues injured birds and nurses them back to
health in her Denver home. Birdie will be 92-years-old in February
2005.
Life
I realized
how quickly life passes when my Grandmother moved into a care center.
When I would visit her in Calgary, I found peace and adversity in
making her photographs. After spending Christmas 2004 with my Grandma,
she died January 6, 2005. Images of Christmas and her funeral in this
section.
